Scuba Diving in New Caledonia
Scuba diving in New Caledonia doesn't quite live up to the very high standards of neighbouring Vanuatu, Solomon Islands or Fiji despite boasting the worlds second longest coral reef. The best dive sites can be found off the west coast of Grand Terre, accessible from the coast 2 to 3 hours drive north of Noumea, or off the east coast around Hienghene. Holiday divers should be more than happy with the coral reefs around the Isle of Pines and offshore from Noumea both of which have gorgeous lagoons with plenty of colourful reef fish and corals.
