Island Resorts in Tonga
The outer islands of Tonga are split into two groups: The Ha'apai Group is closest to Tongatapu and consists of 60 islands, all but two are pretty isolated and difficult to get to; The more accessible Vava'u Group is further north but has greater tourist appeal and more reliable daily flights from Tongatapu taking 40-minutes.
There's only a handful of secluded boutique resorts in the outer islands plus a couple of very basic guesthouses in Lifuka (Ha'apai) and several small hotels and inns in Neiafu Town(Vava'u).
