Planning your Spa Holiday in the Cook Islands

spa treatment

Spa holidays in the Cook Islands haven't yet taken off with only a couple of the larger resorts offering spa centres and only a one of these operating a gym with professional instructors.

Modern spa centres boasting water features and beauty and hair saloons just don't seem to fit in here which is why few resorts have invested in such opulence. Local style massages provided by not-so well trained hotel staff are a good way of relaxing tired limbs after a long flight, but these are usually performed on a flat bed in a quiet spot of the resort grounds under palm trees - a spot in itself so relaxing that the massage seems a bonus. Local oils scented with coconut, gardenia and frangipani extracts are produced by a local company and you can visit their factory in Avarua and buy the products from the shelf.
