Hotel Amenities

Accommodation is in a local family house (wood and cement) run by a retired Tongan school teacher with good English. There are three basic guestrooms: one room at the back has a double and single bed, unscreened window but with mosquito net; the two front bedrooms are screened with a double bed. Guests share a separate toilet and shower cubical (cold water only). There's a good size communal lounge with dining table and access to the guest kitchen which is supplied with basic cooking utensils and minimal provisions (salt, pepper etc). Tongan style meals can be cooked by your host with prior arrangement. Electricity is generated through Solar Power converters and may be unreliable at times. The guesthouse provides torches and kerosene lamps at such times..

Two complimentary kayaks are for guest use and some snorkel gear provided although to be sure of good snorkel equipment it is recommended to bring your own. Because Ofu Island is in the eastern side of Neiafu and off from the main sightseeing areas, guests must go into Neiafu for all day tours and cruises - boat transfers to Neiafu are provided by your hosts, take about ten minutes and cost $ 20 per person one way.
