Independent review for Rarotongan Beach Resort in Rarotonga Cook Islands

The Rarotongan Beach Resort Cook Islands is the second largest resort of the Cook Islands and is set on the white sands of Aroa Beach on the south western tip of Rarotonga. This colourful resort offers rooms in two-storey hotel blocks and staggered bungalow units facing the beach. Guests of the Resort can enjoy all-day sun, all-tide safe swimming, snorkelling in protected Marine Reserve and sunsets.

Room Information

The 54 Garden Rooms are located within several two storey hotel blocks amongst the tropical gardens. Half of these standard guest rooms are on ground level, the other half are on a second storey.
Deluxe Suites are spacious, open plan rooms with a tropical ambience.  All Deluxe Suites are at ground level and feature a spa bath and private open-air outdoor shower. The Deluxe Beach Side Suites differ from the Deluxe Beach Front Suites only in their aspect to the lagoon
Beach Front Rooms offer the full range of our standard features and services, and are located at the western end of Aroa Beach. Half of these standard guest rooms are on ground level, the other half are on a second storey.
Beach Front Suites are the premier accommodation style and offer superior furnishings including Italian tiled bathroom, cane furniture and tropical kauri wardrobe and desk. These suites are over two floors in a beach front location on the secluded eastern end of Aroa Beach, for added privacy. Beach Front Suites offer larger living space than standard rooms.
The six Deluxe Suites are spacious, open plan rooms with a tropical ambience.  All Deluxe Suites are at ground level and feature a spa bath and private open-air outdoor shower. The Deluxe Beach Side Suites differ from the Deluxe Beach Front Suites only in their aspect to the lagoon
The four Grand Suites offer absolute beachfront locations and are located at ground level. They feature large, spacious open-plan interiors with cool terracotta tiles throughout, a super king bed, bathroom with spa bath / shower, private open air shower, dining and sitting areas (with sound system and LCD TV). All 4 Grand Beach Front Suites are fully self-contained, with a kitchen featuring breakfast bar, microwave, stove-top, refrigerator with freezer, and coffee maker. Each Suite features a ground level sun deck and an upper sun deck with views of the beach and lagoon.
The two 2-Bedroom Suites are located at ground-level but without sea views. They feature a sitting and dining room which opens out onto a spacious veranda. a master bedroom (with king bed) which also opens out onto the veranda, a second bedroom with two single beds, a full kitchen (including microwave, stove top, and refrigerator / freezer), a tiled bathroom with spa bath/shower, and a separate toilet. The sitting room is equipped with LCD TV and DVD, sofa, armchairs, and dining table and chairs.

Hotel Amenities

Aroa Beach is one of the more popular beaches on Rarotonga with all tide swimming and snorkelling. The beach has a lively atmosphere always with plenty of activity going on in and around the lagoon.

The Rarotongan has a small swimming pool, two tennis courts and a full day program of activities for kids. Snorkel equipment and kayaks are available for guest use from the activities beach hut.
