Independent review for South Sea Island , Fiji Islands
South Sea Island is a tiny coral cay just 90 paces across and takes less than five minutes to walk around. Owned by South Sea Cruises who operate the Yasawa Flyer, this is a popular first or last night stop for backpackers travelling to the Yasawa Islands and is also used as a day trip island destination from Nadi. Stopover as part of the Yasawa Island Travel Pass.

South Sea Island Resort is part of Awesome Adventures which focuses on providing transfers and accommodation packages along the busy backpacker trail of the Yasawa Group further north their Yasawa Flyer also calls in every day on its way to, and back from, the Yasawas. This is a great place to start your trip and try some of the water activities that evade the less commercial Yasawas - there's even a swimming pool, albeit salt-water. Snorkelling is excellent off the east side of the island and you can take hook-up with the Seaspray adventure sailing cruise which departs from Mana Island to explore the outer Mamanuca Islands an extremely worthwhile day trip
Accommodation is in a 32 bed dorm above the restaurant area which shares 2 cold water bathrooms.
The Beach & Lagoon
The beach surrounding the island is coarse and snorkelling in the lagoon is not great.
There's a fresh water swimming pool and Senikai Spa for beach massages.
South Sea Island activities include the following:
Island Hopping ; Dolphin Watching ; Snorkelling Trip ; Scuba Diving ; Surfing Trip ; Musket Cove Marina
Reef Safari Scuba Diving ; South Sea Cruises
