Accommodation in Grand Terre

Grand Terre is a large island over 400-km long, almost 20,000 sq-km in size and surrounded by the worlds second longest coral reef. The island was originally part of Australia and became displaced around 140 million years ago and drifting over 1200-km to the east of Brisbane to become an island in the South Pacific ocean now known as Grand Terre - the large land.

Much of Grand Terre's coastline is rugged with the best beaches found at the very northern tip of the island some 7-hrs drive from Noumea. It's also a very mountainous island covered with rainforest and accommodation on Grand Terre is more geared towards adventure tourism than offering a romantic holiday escape.
