Location
The Society Islands (which also include Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora) extend west from Tahiti. Other outer islands include the 77 large but virtually flat atolls of the Tuamotu Group ranging in 6,000 sq-km of ocean to the east of Tahiti and the even remoter Marquesas Group, high islands 500-km north east of Tahiti.

Highlights
The other Society Islands of Huahine, Raiatea, Tahaa and Maupiti are more traditional than Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora with fewer resorts, fewer tourists and a more authentic South Seas experience.
Travel Info
Several daily flights between Tahiti and Huahine (20-minutes), Raiatea (35-minutes) and Maupiti (50-minutes, with connections also from Moorea and Bora Bora make the islands very accessible and easily to combine for multi-island trips.
Accommodation
The Society Islands is the main island group of French Polynesia and although easily accessible from the main island of Tahiti, accommodation is limited to pensions and the occasional beach resort.
