Intercontinental Bora Bora is located on a private stretch of beach at the southern tip of the main island with easy access to the islands' activities and day excursions. Although close to the busy beach of Matira, the lagoon here is so shallow that boats are unable to pass through. The resort has a gorgeous fine white sand beach, excellent sandy bottom swimming (all tide) and features some of the most picturesque overwater bungalows in Tahiti, sitting in a tantalizing turquoise lagoon undisturbed by motorized water sports.
The Bora Bora Nui Resort is the premium Starwood property in French Polynesia. This luxury resort is set in a secluded spot on the largest motu island at the south western tip of Bora Lagoon. The Sheraton Resort Moorea offers the most picturesque setting of all the resorts on Moorea Island with an attractive beach setting and placid turquoise lagoon in front of its imposing Polynesian style restaurant and main reception area. Temanuata Beach Bungalows is one of the few budget style accommodations in Bora Bora. This pleasant beach property is located a few minutes stroll to popular Matira Beach and offers great value for money for those not looking for the trims of resort living. The property fronts a narrow south facing beach (no sun in early morning or late afternoon) protected by a sea wall. The landscaped gardens are split by a garden path, with a line of 5 bungalows either side extending from the coastal road to the beach.
Intercontinental Tahiti is a delightful oceanfront resort on the west coast of Tahiti with the nicest overwater bungalows on the main island and several pleasant artificial beach settings and lagoonarium. The large reception area offers a balcony with sweeping views over the ocean and towards Moorea. There's one huge swimming pool in front of the hotel and another smaller pool fronting the ocean. The hotel boasts one of the best Polynesian dance performances in French Polynesia.
Le Maitai Polynesia offers excellent value for money on the main island of Bora Bora and makes a great base for enjoying the many excursions around the island and lagoon. The property is located on the southern end of Bora about ten minutes walk to Matira Beach with the coastal road bisecting the property. The main reception, main restaurant and Garden and Ocean View Rooms are located on the mountain side of the road.
The Hotel Kaveka is located in the heart of Cook's Bay on the oceanfront with stunning views of the bay. Hotel Hibiscus is a small hotel set alongside a sandy beach protected by a rather ugly cement sea wall on the west coast of Moorea. The sea in front of the property provides a good swimming area for kids - go out 20 metres and its a pleasant lagoon for swimming and snorkelling. The hotel is close to the Little Tourist Village with its boutique shops, supermarket and restaurants.
