The Yasawa Islands is a long string of 15 beautiful volcanic islands extending north of the Mamanuca Islands, between 50- and 100-km north west of Nadi Airport in Fiji.

Highlights
The Yasawas has stunning beaches and fabulous snorkelling lagoons with several beautiful small resorts as well as fantastic small ship overnight cruises exploring the full length of the chain. In the south, Waya has stunning mountains and coastal tracks to explore whilst the northern end has a collection of smaller islands with protected lagoons. The Yasawas is the most popular backpacker trail in Fiji with the efficient hop-on hop-off travel pass enabling travellers to visit most of the islands and beach resorts on one ticket.
Travel Info
Stunning secluded beach resorts and a collection of backpacker beach huts along this chain of islands are served by a daily fast passenger ferry from Nadi (between 2-hrs and 4-hrs travel time from Nadi). Guests staying at the more upmarket resorts can get there much quicker by seaplane or charter plane. Relaxing 3- 4- and 7-night small ship cruises also visit the islands from Nadi making this an exceptional sightseeing trip.
Accommodation
The Yasawa Islands has over 20 locally operated backpacker resorts in beautiful beach locations although unfortunately many of these are poorly managed or offer an unreliable service. A few of the more successful small resorts have moved beyond the backpacker market and appeal to budget minded holiday-makers from Australia and New Zealand, whilst several luxury boutique resorts target the romance market.
