Highlights
The main island of Viti Levu has Fiji's large hotel chains and plenty of smaller resorts around the tourist hubs of Nadi Airport and the Coral Coast and makes an affordable base for sightseeing. The Mamanuca and Yasawa islands off the west coast are perfect for a laid back beach holiday with excellent water sports and snorkelling. The Outer Islands have world class diving and surfing as well as stunning rainforests and traditional villages.

Fiji is the main tourist destination in the South Pacific with direct flights from several major world cities including Sydney, Auckland, Los Angeles, Honk Kong & Seoul with several major international airlines including Air New Zealand, Korean Air, Virgin (V-Australia and Pacific Blue), Continental and Fiji's own very good airline, Air Pacific. The international airport is at Nadi on the sunny west coast of Viti Levu which has several clusters of tourist accommodation. As a destination, Fiji is cheap and easily accessible with several major tourist destinations offering plenty of accommodation from large brand resorts to budget beach huts. The main island of Viti Levu is easy and very cheap to get around by bus, taxi or hire car with plenty of sightseeing tours available. The Mamanuca and Yasawa islands are readily accessible by fast passenger ferry, water taxi, sea-plane and helicopter and most of the larger islands with tourism (Savusavu on Vanua Levu, Taveuni and Kadavu) have daily flights from Nadi and Suva.

There is almost every style of accommodation in Fiji from large international brand hotels to some of the most exclusive private island resorts in the world and budget beach huts for backpackers. Of all the South Pacific island destinations, Fiji has by far the most tourist beds, more than all the other islands put together. With it comes competition, affordable prices and often good seasonal specials.
