The Fiji beach bure is an icon if the islands with its thatch coconut plaited roofs and spliced bamboo walls. Many accommodations use this traditional style of bungalow for its rooms and offers excellent privacy being stand-alone bungalows as well as cool interiors with its high ceilings and louvre style open windows.

Some of the most luxurious resorts in Fiji have bure accomodation complete with polished wooden floors, four poster beds draped in mosquito net, air conditioning and beautifully woven roofs featuring coconut weaving and tapa clot finishing. In contrast, the budget beach bure is a simple thatch structure much like the bure in the village and offers a real charm in its simplicity, but like many Fijian bure houses, the bathrooms are sometimes in a separate out-building and shared with other guests.
