yasawa travel pass hotel location picture

The Yasawa Travel Pass Fiji enables you to visit any one of ten islands along the beautiful Yasawa chain of islands and stay at any of the 16 accredited budget beach bures along the way. This is the best region in Fiji for a backpacking, for meeting fellow travellers, for relaxing on gorgeous beaches and dabbling in a little snorkelling. Hiking on most islands is also great with hilltop climbs and ridge walking tracks offering spectacular views of the islands and lagoons. Accommodation is in simple thatch bure with shared bathrooms, or dorm lodges, all with communal meals.

Accommodation

Depending on the beach resort and option chosen, this is in either simple thatch bures with basic shared bathrooms (most cold water only), or in Dorm style accommodation. Some properties offer bure upgrades offering private en-suite bathrooms. However, if you are looking for creature comforts, this pass is probably not for you - meals are set plan and without options, electricity is powered by generators and sometimes available at certain hours only whilst showers are often cold and sourced from rain water tanks. If you are seeking a higher standard of service but still with a backpacker ambience we recommend either Octopus Resort or Manta Ray Island Resort

Dorm Rooms are generally wooden huts with between 6 and twelve single beds, although some resorts have bunk beds. Mosquito nets are usually provided, but not lockers - any valuables should always be handed in with resort management for safe keeping.

Most private accomomdation at budget resorts is in a basic Fijian Bure. Bures have thatch roofs and some may have thatch or bamboo walls whilst others will be wooden or cement. Bures usually have shared bathroom facilities but some may be en-suite and these usually require an upgrade fee to be paid. Mosquito nets are generally provided although the bures usually don't have fans and can get quite hot during the day. Be forewarned also that thatch roofing means creepy-crawlies also making them their home. Nothing in Fiji is poisonous so don't be too alarmed.

Meals

Meals are included at most resorts and are served as a set-meal plans at a communal dining setting. Meals are NOT Included at the following resorts: Oarsmans Bay, Manta Ray Island Resort.

Activities:

These can be arranged at each individual resort and should be paid for as you go. Most properties offer snorkelling trips, village visits, island picnics and hand line fishing. A few can also arrange scuba diving.
