Resort Setting & Amenities

The beach is located across a sandy lane from the bungalows and stretches along Ootu Point infront of a narrow but deep water sandy bottom lagoon good for swimming (boats sometimes use the channel). Beyond the channel is a shallow lagoon which at low tide connects to Akitua Island exposing several sand bars for exploring. This lagoon isn't good for snorkelling but you can snorkel around the point in deeper water or on day cruises which stop at some great snorkelling reefs.

Samade has an excellent beachfront restaurant with beautiful views across the lagoon and is a great spot for enjoying a sunset cocktail. Island nights with traditional dancing and a Polynesian feast are held most weeks. There is also on-site moped hire and lagoon cruises depart just down the beach.
